Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Now a Level 3 Trauma Center CompleteRx .sIFR-active h1 { visibility: hidden; } Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Earns Certification Distinction Medical centers and facilities acknowledge the importance of earning hospital certification today, especially given the rising standards in healthcare. After all, individuals will ultimately choose the best possible quality of healthcare when looking for somewhere to seek treatment. When it comes to emergency care though, choice is often not an option. Instead, it is essential that everyone can access the best possible emergency healthcare in order to boost their chances of recovery from whatever illness or injury they may have. As such, certification is a major plus and this is why high praise should be reserved for Eastern New Mexico Medical Center right now. In early January 2010, the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, located in Roswell, earned certification and the distinction of becoming a level 3 trauma center. This effectively means that the doctors and nurses at that particular facility are fully qualified and have proved themselves able to deal with more serious injuries than previously. Whereas individuals may have had to be transported elsewhere via air ambulance in the past, now locals can head there instead and remain near their families. Rhonda Rouch, the trauma program manager, was ecstatic with the award: "We stabilize, resuscitate, and can do emergency surgery as a Level 3. We have an ER doc on 24/7 and a trauma surgeon on call 24/7, and, per the standards, they can be available within 30 minutes." Rouch, rightly proud of the staff, also acknowledged that only 10% of all hospitals are trauma-certified, but now locals can access urgent healthcare around the clock from a range of medical professionals, all of whom are trained to the highest standards and adhere to established best practice guidelines. All hospitals and healthcare facilities that achieve certification should be celebrated so congratulations should be sent to Eastern Mexico Medical Center.
